TGIF / 18

Well hello there, neighbor! I hope you all had a great week and are all geared up for some lovely Easter festivities. I'm currently on my way to Texas for some country fun so I'll be taking a few days away from the interwebs for some quality family time. Enjoy your weekly dish of TGIF links and cheers to another wonderful weekend!

Bookish News

What would you say are the most iconic and reconisable book covers of all time? Well, here they are. Are you surprised by the results?

The 2012 National Book Critics Circle Award winners have been announced.

For those of you who participate in book clubs, here are some ever important book club faux paus.

Entertainment News

Divergent hits theatres in a little less than a year. What do you think of the casting so far?

If you love Game of Thrones, then you'll definitely appreciate Rage of Thrones by Axis of Awesome. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be: EPIC!

Even if the trailer for Hummingbird didn't feature Jason Statham being all bad ass and sexy, I'd still watch it because it looks awesome. Hopefully there will be a US release in the near future!

Pop Culture!

All the nerderific Easter eggs a geek could want. These make me super happy!

Writing Tips

I know many of you are not just enthusastic readers, but aspiring writers as well. And like me, you may not have the luxury of working from home every day, so I've compiled some helpful tips on balancing writing with working a full time job. You can find them here , here , here and here. I'd like to know---how do you do it?

  1. Oh I love this post! All this juicy info in one place. I will admit that while many of those recognizable covers are ones that I know and could name without seeing the title, a few I had never seen before. I'm actually excited about the Divergent movie, although I'm inherently wary about movie adaptations in general. Now I feel like I'm up to date in the book world ;).

    1. Thanks, Lauren! Happy I can provide! :)

I'm generally wary of book to film adaptations which is why (if I can) I try to read the book AFTER I see the movie. When I do it this way, I'm much less critical of the film and usually like it better than if I had done it the other way around. It'll be interesting to see how they tackle Divergent though.

  3. I will have to look into those writing tips!

I I'm way beyond ready for the Divergent movie and the casting seems fine!

I showed my husband Rage of Thrones because sadly I've only watched the tv show but he has read the books and he loved it! It was hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I can't wait to see how they take on adapting Divergent for the big screen. I'll definitely need to re-read the books before I see it in theatres.

Haha, I thought Rage of Thrones was brilliant. Glad your hubby enjoyed it too!
