How To Train Your Dragon 2 |
02/ One of the coolest things about blogging is the sense of community. I like that I can connect with people who share my passion for reading, which is exactly why I love the website Booking Through Thursday. It's a website designed by readers, for readers, for discussion.
03/ It's hard to imagine James Cameron casting anyone other than Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio as leads in the mega-blockbuster, Titanic. Well, it almost happened. Yep, folks. That's Jeremy Sisto (of Clueless fame).
04/ I've been battling the idea of using an e-reader for some time but have never quite been able to make that leap. My inital preference was for the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight but the new Kindle Paperwhite might have me singing a new tune.
05/ Word on the street is that Veronica Roth's wildly popular book, Divergent, now has an official film release date.
06/ J.R.R. Tolkein reading a poem in Elvish = my mind blown.
07/ Okay, I know this is kind of cruel but there is a huge part of me that gets some sort of sadistic satisfaction out of watching these dogs unhappily prance around in booties.
08/ John Derian's new collaboration with Paperless Post makes sending digital stationary a whole lot more fashionable and fun!
09/ Apparently some theatres in London are employing ninjas to deal with rude moviegoers. I can totally get down with that.
10/ What is the biggest mistake that writers make?
Honorable Mention: I want to give a shout out to my homegirl in Philly, Jamie of The Perpetual Page-Turner. She's one of the most honest and rad gals I've met in my short stint as a book blogger. She doesn't just review books, she also gives awesome tips for bloggers and readers alike! This post on How To Find Out About Bookish Events Like A Boss is one of the most helpful things I've read (as a newer blogger).

I'm really enjoying your blog, and am looking forward to checking out all the links in this post alone. What could be better than JRR Tolkein reading a poem in Elvish?
ReplyDeleteFun TGIF post as always. Elton from Clueless as Jack in Titanic? I think not. lol. Speaking of Elton, I love the film Clueless and Jeremy Sisto now has a show called Suburgatory, which I watch every week. Anyway, Alicia Silverstone has been cast as his recent love interest on the show, and every once in a while they do Clueless references. I give a little 'squee' each time :)
ReplyDeleteOff to see the JRR Tolkien clip.
Enjoy your weekend.
p.s. I wholeheartedly give two thumbs up for ninjas dealing with rude film goers.
I loved How to Train Your Dragon - it's a movie that got me through a few hours of a long-haul flight several times! I'm excited for the second one.
ReplyDeleteE-readers are fabulous - although I was completely against them to begin with, I now have three (yep, a techie-klutz who collects gadgets - so ironic!)
L - Hearing that poem from J.R.R Tolkein was pretty amazing! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteNadia - OMG, I knew he looked familiar! I mean I've seen him in Clueless but totally forgot he was the dad in Suburgatory. So cute but glad DiCaprio snagged the role of Jack, for sure. Have an awesome weekend!
Kay - Man, I've never been lucky enough to catch that decent of a movie on a long flight. Lucky! So I have to ask... Which e-reader is your favorite? I'm having such a hard time figuring out which one to get.
Thank you so much for the general update! I'm always looking for posts like yours:) I'm so happy about the Divergent movie news!
