Poppin Well-Composed Composition Book |
02/ I've always been a huge JJ Abrams fan, so naturally, I've followed the buzz about his new fall show, Revolution. The premise is really intriguing and definitely applicable to the world we live in today. I mean, what would you do if all technology just stopped working? Let's take the journey together and find out. The premiere is one week from Monday on NBC at 10pm.
03/ If you haven't already gathered, I have a soft spot for all things zombie-related so Deadlight is a game that's right up my alley. Just one thing--why are all the great zombie games released for XBox and not PS3?!
04/ What do you get when you take A Tale Dark & Grimm and cross it with The Matrix, Underworld and throw in a dash of Nine Inch Nails? You get Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Oh yes. This is totally happening!
05/ The Chronicles of Narnia, A Song of Ice and Fire, Winnie the Pooh, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. All of these are iconic books. Have you ever wondered where the author found the inspiration to write these stories? Now you know--real life is always the best inspiration.
06/ What is cooler than a dictionary? How about a pictorial dictionary?! NEATO!
07/ The Library of Congress is hosting their National Book Festival this month in Washington D.C. One of my absolute favourite childhood authors, R.L. Stine, is going to be there! You bet your bottom dollar I'll be standing in line with my tattered copy of Goosebumps awaiting an autograph. If any of you are planning on attending, let me know and perhaps we can meet up and grab a spot of coffee!
08/ One word. Sixty seconds. What can you come up with? I'm a writer at heart and though I may not have the time to write several pages a day, I can at least practice my craft with this great little exercise. All it takes is one minute of my time, so there are no more excuses not to write every single day.
09/ I'm a huge fan of trivia and this article about ironic coincidences behind the scenes of famous movies was right up my alley.
10/ This has to be one of the best fan-made movie trailers I've ever seen. It's about Captain Planet. Yes. It gets bonus points because I used to play Captain Planet with friends in my neighborhood. I always kind of felt bad for the friend who got stuck playing the Planeteer, Ma-Ti ("heart").
Honourable Mention: There's no better way of showing your appreciation and support in the blogging community (because that's what this is) than by giving a shout-out to your fellow bloggers. I'd like to give a hearty cheers to Naida of The Bookworm for her cute post on Things Your Dog Doesn't Want You To Know. We are both big dog lovers and I can really appreciate the pet-humour.

Surf's up, lady!
Happy Friday! You always post some great links with your TGIF posts. I checked out the film trivia and I can't believe Brad tore his Achilles while filming Troy, that's a little scary!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out and enjoy your weekend :)
Is that your pup??
Thanks, Naida! Film trivia is always pretty amusing to me. And while that is not my actual pup, he is of that breed and looks just like that dog (only a bit stubbier).
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Captain Planet! 90s kids unite!
ReplyDeleteNikki! I'm totally going to be at the National Book Fest! We have to meet up!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Jamie, we should definitely meet up! Unfortunately, I do have a previous commitment on Sunday but I'll be at the BookFest on Saturday, all day long.
